Speciality African Foods Makes An Appearance At New York’s Fancy Food Show


Speciality food companies African Bush Products, Madecasse and Kitchens of Africa made an appearance at the Fancy food show which is currently being held in New York City and will end today.

African Bush Products are a Kosher company that produced teas with 100% natural herbal infusion from South Africa.Varieties include Rooibos, Rooibos and Lemongrass, Rooibos and African Spices, and Honeybush.

Madecasse is a chocolate and vanilla production company that was started two Peace Corp volunteers. By supporting organic forest farming techniques and specialized local production methods, Madécasse can cultivate the vibrant, exotic flavors naturally occurring in the local ingredients.

Kitchens of Africa, is a relatively new line and specializes in african-inspired sauces and marinades that make is easy to rustle up an exquisite African dish from the comfort of your own home. Most of the products are vegan. The Maffé peanut simmer sauce isa favorite from their line and is inspired by the traditional peanut butter sauces used in most West African dishes.

The Fancy Food Show is an event that showcases innovative speciality food and beverages from all over the United States. Speciality foods featured included  confections, cheese, coffee, snacks, spices, ethnic, natural, organic and more.

The Fancy Food which began in 1955, is held twice annually with a Winter show held in San Francisco and the Summer version held in New York City. The show is set up as a way to expose retailers, restauranteurs and distributors to new food and beverage products.
