MOBO Awards 2013 – Nominations List Revealed!

M-Celebrating-18-white-1024x907Earlier today MOBO (Music Of Black Origin) revealed its nominations shortlist.

Among the nominees was Ghanaian-British artist Fuse ODG, who was nominated in 3 categories; Best Newcomer in association with HTC, Best Video in association with SBTV and Best African Act

Nigerian artists dominated the ‘Best African Act’ category with three nominees; Tiwa Savage, Ice Prince and WizKid. They will battle it out against Fuse ODG as well as Atumpan from Ghana, Bombino from Niger, South Africa’s Mafikizolo and Spoek Mathombo also.

Dizzee Rascal also joined Fuse ODG with a nomination for  the Best Video in association with SBTV and Nigerian-Brit Tinie Tempah was also nominated for the ‘Best UK Hip Hop/Grime’ award.

Founded in 1996 by Kanya King MBE, the MOBO Organisation was established to recognise the outstanding achievements of artists who perform music in genres ranging from Gospel, Jazz, RnB, Soul, Reggae to Hip Hop. Over the past 17 years, MOBO has played a pivotal role in bringing black music and culture to mainstream popular status in the UK.
