Among the nominees was Ghanaian-British artist Fuse ODG, who was nominated in 3 categories; Best Newcomer in association with HTC, Best Video in association with SBTV and Best African Act
Nigerian artists dominated the ‘Best African Act’ category with three nominees; Tiwa Savage, Ice Prince and WizKid. They will battle it out against Fuse ODG as well as Atumpan from Ghana, Bombino from Niger, South Africa’s Mafikizolo and Spoek Mathombo also.
Dizzee Rascal also joined Fuse ODG with a nomination for the Best Video in association with SBTV and Nigerian-Brit Tinie Tempah was also nominated for the ‘Best UK Hip Hop/Grime’ award.
