Ibrahim El-Salahi: A Visionary Modernist at Tate Modern

Beginning today, Sudanese artist Ibrahim El-Salahi features his 1965 piece, Vision of the Tomb and other works at the Tate Modern Gallery n London.

This exhibition outlines El Salahi’s Journey from humble beginning in Sudan.  Born in 1930 in Omdurman Sudan, El Salahi schooled at the Slade school in London. The exhibition will also document his establishment of a new Sudanese visual vocabulary, his stay in Qatar and his return to the UK in the 1990’s where he now lives and works in Oxford.
