Africa and science fiction: Wanuri Kahiu’s “Pumzi”, Interview (Video)

Dec 24, 2013 • Articles, KenyaNo Comments

Very interesting interview with Kenyan filmmaker Wanuri Kahiu, who wrote and directed the acclaimed short film ‘Pumzi’ back in 2009. The interview was conducted by Oulimata Gueye as part of the exhibition “Si ce monde vows déplaît” in FRAC Lorraine, Metz France, and shot by Masha Kosobokova.

Wanuri touches on her thoughts about her film being classed under the term ‘Afrofuturism’. Check out the video (above) to view her thoughts.
