Africare and TOMS Provide Shoes for Primary School Children in Liberia and Malawi

africare-1Non-profit organization Africare are teaming up with TOMS footware to provide new shoes for primary school children in Liberia and Malawi.

Africare president Darius Mans states “As a TOMS Giving Partner, Africare is not only able to provide children with new pairs of shoes as they grow, we are also increasing their health and their self-esteem, which heavily impacts school attendance and performance.”

Later this month, Africare plans to host TOMS shoe distribution events through Liberia and Malawi.

Since its inception in 1970, Africare has raised over $1 billion of assistance for more that 2500 projects in Africa. The funds have been used to implement projects addressing Agriculture & Food Security; Health, HIV & AIDS; Humanitarian and Emergency Relief; Infrastructure; Maternal and Child Health; Water, Sanitation & Hygiene; and Women’s Empowerment.
