South African artist Karel Nel will be presenting ‘Silent Thresholds’ at Art First in London from October 15 to November 2013.
This is the first time the Johannesburg-based artist will be debuting his new work since his inclusion in the 2012 exhibition “African Cosmos : Stellar Arts” at the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art, Washington.
Karel Nel was born in 1955, in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. He studied Fine Art at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, St Martin’s School of Art, London and the University of California, Berkeley.
He now works as an Associate Professor at the School of Arts, University of the Witwatersrand.
