This summer has been an exciting month for fans of Catherine Addai’s Toronto based fashion label Kaela Kay. The unveiling of the brand’s Spring Summer 2013 collection at this year’s Africa Fashion Week New York, proved to us that Kaela Kay maintains it’s reputation as a quality brand that caters to every woman ‘feminine yet strong; dainty yet bold; and totally, unconventionally, modern.’ The latest collection consists of beautiful bold prints with peplum silhouettes and an essential classic slim pant.
Since its debut, the collection has been making waves with a recent showing at Africa Fashion Week Toronto and a few appearances in magazines over the past few weeks.
Zen Magazine gave us a brief introduction to some of Kaela Kay’s key pieces in their July Issue. (Click on images for larger images):
The collection was also highlighted in Mod Magazine’s Summer 2013 ‘Go Wild’ Issue (Click to Enlarge).
Also earlier this month, Kaela Kay was featured in this month’s Veux Magazine in an editorial entitled ‘Tribe Princess’ (Click image to enlarge):
With a nomination for Best Designer at the African Entertainment Award which is due to take place in Ontario this weekend, we are rooting for Ms Addai.
