Black beauty and heritage played a pivotal role in providing inspiration for fashion trendsetter Loza Maléombho’s latest collection Zaouli. Zaouli was born out of a need to celebrate African culture most especially after the 1 year anniversary of the Ferguson unrest this summer.
The latest collection is celebratory of Maléombho’s Ivorian roots and is inspired by the traditional Zaouli Masks (Gouro) made from natural materials like raffia and jute cloth. Pieces are fitted with cut out details and geometric shapes.
