Who says African foods can’t be healthy?
Deciding to became vegan when you are used to a diet of traditional African cuisine can be tough. Although rich in taste and flavor, a lot of dishes of African heritage are often high in calories, high in fat and high in sodium -factors that contribute to many health woes (namely heart disease, diabetes and obesity).
A few weeks back, I came across ‘Naija Vegan’, a UK-based youtube channel that specialized in sharing vegan-friendly versions of popular African dishes such as Egusi Soup, jollof rice, Matoke and several others.
