‘Faces and Phases’ is South African photographer and social injustice activist, Zanele Muholi’s latest collection of images. Shot in black and white, Muholi hopes that her powerful photographs will help to redefine stereotypes that are usually associated with gender and sexuality in South Africa.

These images and more are currently being exhibited at the 2013 Carnegie International in Pittsburg from October 5, 2013 to March 16, 2014
