‘Portraits of Accra City, My City’ – Photography by Ofoe Amegavie

Jun 1, 2014 • Art, Articles, GhanaNo Comments

The photos in Ofoe Amegavie’s recent ‘Portraits of Accra City, My City’ series have a vintage aesthetic, which is something quite familiar in most of his previous work.

The black and white images of local medicine women in Accra, Ghana are monochromed with an orange filter to brings out the characteristics and texture of the photograph.

In Yagazie Emezi’s ‘Meet Your Photographer series‘, Ofoe Amegavie describes himself as a 26 years old photographer from Ghana. He states, ‘I like black and white photos very much because I find color to be a bit of a distraction sometimes.’
