Re-Introducing Oshun is a interdisciplinary exhibition incorporating the use of various visual art forms to explore the female form.

Oshun (Yoruba), is a West African Orisha  who reigns over love, intimacy, beauty and diplomacy. This project will use this deity as a stimulus to discuss black women’s sexual expression.

Hosted by Guest Projects Africa and funded by the British Arts Council, the event will be presented by a collective of 4 female artists from the African diaspora:

Janine Francois – Creative Producer/Director
Stella Odunlamii – Curator,
Zainab Adamu – Visuals (photography & film)
Belinda Bornfree Zhawi – Words (poetry & prose)

07-17 October 2013, Shinobare Studios, 1 Andrew Road, Hackney, E8 4QL
