From October 10 to November 10, 2013, Nigerian-born artist Iké Udé will be exhibiting his latest collection at the Leila Heller Gallery. The collection entitled ‘Style and Sympathies’ features a series of photographs ‘which poeticize colors, sumptuous fabrics, and composition, transcend the traditional aesthetic of portraiture by adopting a post-modern twist’. The collection will also include some of Udé’s self portraits from his critically-acclaimed Sartorial Anarchy series.
Udé is a well know figure in the world of fashion and celebrity and has been included twice (2009 and 2012) in Vanity Fair’s International Best Dress list. the Lagos born artist now lives and works in New York City.
Style and Sympathies, will be on view at Leila Heller Gallery, located at 568 West 25th Street, New York, New York, from October 10th to November 9th, 2013.
