‘#ThisFebruary’ Election Campaign by Redbox Africa #Nigeria

thisfebruary1In the run up to the upcoming February 2015 elections, Lagos-based media company Redbox Africa have released a series of videos featuring leading creatives from various backgrounds and vocation urging Nigerian nations to make their vote count. The campaign features videos from Filmmaker Kemi Adetiba, the members of the CEO Dancer Nqobile Danseur and afrobeat star D’jani.

The videos encourage Nigerians to go ahead and Vote in the forthcoming Elections as Nigeria decides in February 2015. It features a quadrant that attempts to compare the priorities and preferences of the voting population of the country, especially as the scheduled presidential election happens to be on the same day as the valentines. Also featured in the series of the videos are people from various backgrounds and vocation.

In the past year Nigeria has seen the atrocities of Boko Haram and their hold in the northern states of Borno and Yobe. Earlier this week it was reported that over 2000 people were reported dead after Boko Haram opened fired in Baga the northern Nigerian villages.

As the casualties pile up, many Nigerians cannot help but feel their government’s detachment from the current situations and their lack of ability to put a stop to Boko Haram’s actions.

The elections that will take place in Valentines day will see more than 60 million Nigerians casting their votes, which will ultimately determine the future of their country.
