Obama Visits Aims To Re-Engage the U.S. With Africa

first_familyU.S. President Barack Obama returns to Africa to speak out about the importance of human rights and stress his support for economic progress.

His first stop will be Senegal where he will visit President Macky Sall where he will discuss the U.S. support for emerging democracies, food security, global health and fighting AIDS.

In South Africa, will discuss economic and democratic progress and is likely to visit former president Nelson Madela to check on his progress.

Obama also hopes to address counter-terrorismefforts to combat threats from Islamist extremists in places like Mali and Nigeria.

His first trip during his presidency to the continent was back in 2009. this latest trip with his family will run from June 26 to July 3.
