Black MaleBorn in the 80s, 70s state of mind, 90s sense of style; Blackmale Beats (Shem Lawrence & Lukman Shoge) music & art production duo, raised in the cultural streets of South London . The philosophy & style behind the Blackmale Beats machine is ‘to keep the tradition of Hip Hop alive’, with their primary musical influences ranging from Hip Hop musicians such as J Dilla to Jazz references from Gil Scott-Heron. The duo debuted their last Mixtape ‘Skool Assembly’ through a bespoke sound system at Tate Britain’s Late at Tate. This venture was the beginning of many sound and visual installations to come.

From the 18th – 21st of September the super talented duo will be showcasing visuals if there work at The ‘African And Caribbean Design Diaspora Festival. Within the Oxo Towers Bargehouse.
