EbonyLife TV is a multi-platform broadcaster that aims to channge the prevailing conception of Africa. The channels key target demographic are viewers betwwen the ages of 18 to 34 – the custodians of the present and the future.The channel aims to produce and broadcast over 700 hours of non-stop, original programming with world-class production values.The Channel’s founder Mo Abudu, who was educated in both the UK and Nigeria has ‘realized her vision of an African TV channel for the new Africa. Her selected platforms for achieving her Inspire Africa vision include television, radio, publishing, merchandising, events, leisure and entertainment’.One show that was specifically created for the channel is ‘Screen Divas’, where Nollywood Queens Kate, Uche, Funke and Rita combine their star power to produce the short film ‘New Horizon’ tackling the issue of domestic abuse. Other shows airing include ‘My wife and Kids’ and ‘Little Miss Jocelyn’
EbonyLife TV hope to extend their distribution to the UK, United States, Brazil, Canada and other parts of Europe.
Ebony Life TV will be available on DStv channel 165 to DStv Premium, Compact Plus (where available) and Compact viewers from July 1st, 2013.
