J Crew recently presented a new line of swimwear from African surf lifestyle brand Bantu.
The collection consists of six pieces (three sets) featuring custom prints of bright coral colors that are only available online on the J Crew website.
Africa may not generally be known for its surf culture, but swimwear line Bantu is about to change that. Named after the word for “gateway” in Wolof (a native language used in Senegal), Bantu’s mission is to introduce the world to the vibrant beach culture of coastal Africa through its bold swim styles and surfboards. Using only local vendors and artisans, Bantu sustainably makes swimsuits that juxtapose African wax cloth prints with modern beachwear in high-performing Italian fabrics. Even better, you can only find these colors here.
Bantu founder was found by Ethiopian-American Yodit Eklund in 2008.
