Nyanye – Grandma (Swahili)

In a fictional shoot, Kenyan photographer Osborne Macharia worked with fashion stylist Kev Abbra in a shoot depicting prolific Grannies in an editorial titled Nyanye.  The shoot showcased the high flying and extravagant lifestyles of grandmothers, who were once corporate and government leaders

The editorial featured Mrs Kamau Njuguna (Former governor of the Central Bank of Kenya), Mrs S Were (Former Economist and Personal Advisor to the president) and Ms. M Adhiambo (Former Minister of Trade and Industry).

This is a fictional story about Kenya’s LEAGUE OF EXTRAVAGANT GRANNIES, who were corporate and government leaders in the 1970’s. Today they are retired and live the high life; traveling to exotic places to explore, party and enjoy in exclusivity.
