N’Dour becomes first African to receive Polar Music Prize.

Youssou N’Dour has been named one of the recipient of the prestigious Polar Music Awards. An award shared by the likes of Paul McCartney and Ray Charles.

This marks a historical milestone in music as its the first of its kind to be given to an African artist.

The Senegalese musician has a career that spans over 40 years, which includes his activism through music and his role in 2000 as Goodwill Ambassador for the Food and Agriculture Organisation.
