New York Times Features ‘Street Style in Dakar’

Often Dubbed ‘the Paris of Africa’ Dakar is known for it’s flourishing art scene and stylish fashion (Adama, Selly Raby Kane etc).

A typical Friday in the Senegalese capital is ‘prayer day’, meaning most of the older locals are decked out in traditional garb. New York Times visits Plateau in downtown Dakar to find out what the younger residence are wearing –a mix of traditional Senegalese garments with ‘European Style’ clothing.
