Within the past five years, Kenyan model Doris Hammond Kwaka has carved a lucrative career as one of Asia’s most sought after African models. Her towering stature and legs that go on for days, draw attention in her home city of Beijing. Kwaka has worked the runway of China Fashion week, and has traveled to Malaysia, Indonesia and Dalia for fashion spreads. The lack of black models in China has helped her to create a niche for herself. Kwaka also owns DHK Fashion, an African- inspired fashion line with business partner Francisca Ochieng
In an editorial titled ‘Be A Shadow’, Chinese fashion photographer Johnny Wong captures Kwaka in a series of images that show her posing in geometric-inspired fashion silhouettes.
